How To Try Fusion Wear This Festive Season?

Three quarters of the year have already passed, and we’ve circled back to the much anticipated festive-wedding season. You know what that means! It’s time to get an entire occasion-wear wardrobe ready. Whether you’re digging up old clothes (we stan!) or lugging shopping bags home (always exciting!), there’s always a way to make a personal style statement amidst the chaos.

Festive fusion wear has been a buzzword since a while now, and it’s time to dip toes in it! Most people when they hear festive fusion assume an experimental and eccentric take on traditional clothing. But, that’s not it!

Here’s what’s in trend for Autumn Winter 2019 on the festive front.

Prints & Shirts

Not everyone is a big fan of kurtas or pathaanis. Some don’t like the ceremonial vibe, some don’t like the pleats on their churidar, while some simply feel too hot and bothered in attires this heavy. At such times, opt for a shirt with prints as the fascination point. From something as elaborate as foliage to something very minimal such as paisleys, printed shirts come in a variety, that you can use to your advantage.

Mandarin collars & earthy shades

If prints seem like a commitment, solids will of course, serve you loyally. They will give you a dose of essentials, albeit in a more nuanced manner. To abide by the festive spirit, opt for monochromes in earthy hues such as beige, olives, rust and cobalt. The Mandarin collar adds a touch of classy and will lend you a slender, more flattering frame.

Basic kurtas & sporty sneakers

The regular accessories that you wear with your kurta also need switching up at times. If you believe that is what is getting you stuck in a rut, leave your mojaris and leather chappals at home. Pair your solid or basic printed kurta with sneakers for that Anand Ahuja effect! Be warned though, this one works better for simplistic kurtas made in linen or cotton!

Shirts & Nehru jackets

Well, no one really said that Nehru jackets have to be paired exclusively with kurtas! So, play your own game and don’t give up what’s most comfortable to you. Pair a shirt with chinos and throw on a Nehru jacket within the same colour family. Guaranteed to make you stand apart, this is fuss-free styling at its best. Match with loafers for the finishing touch!

Asymmetrical kurtas & ankle length pants

If the cut of your traditional garment is getting too monotonous, invest in the newly released asymmetrical kurta. The change in silhouette will definitely up your game, while lending you a distinct ceremonial vibe. As a slightly formal version of the regular kurta, match this one with a pair of ankle length pants that taper at the end.
