Taking the title for one of the most definitive fashion weeks in recent history is the Autumn Winter 2019-2020 Men.

Whether art is the reflection of society or vice versa, art sure does act as a catalyst more often than not. This time too, was no different! As is experienced with digital conversations today, the definition of what it means to be truly masculine is undergoing a transition. The word and the gender is losing its rigidity, and is more embracing of things, opinions and people that don’t typically fit into a structure.

There was a sort of gentleness in the treatment and portrayal of designs. So many bits such as a shade, a motif, or a texture came from the happy underbelly of our childhood. This rotation of classics was reason enough to trigger a sense of happy nostalgia!

In the same spirit, Fashion Week Fall Winter 2019 Men was all about portraying this metamorphosis.

Knitwear and sweaters that will in the coming weeks become the staple of a majority population, were an accessory used for self-expression. From illustrated roses, to dogs to colourblocking inserts, it’s time to say bye bye to the ugly Christmas sweater.

No more reds, whites and greens. No more sticking to cumbersome and maximalist ‘Merry X-mas’ paraphernalia spread over a single garment. About time, we say!

On a final note, the industry is clearly beckoning for men to come and experiment and express through their clothes and we’re here for it!
